Young Living Essential Oils
essential oils
You know the pleasure of the essential oils we use at the end of yoga classes and during massage. Maybe you're one of the many extremely pleased people last year who enjoyed the holiday season with a collection of amazing essential oils? Many of you have tried different ones throughout the year to enhance your home life. This year, Yoga Body and Balance wants you to be able to take home these remarkable oils and find out how truly powerful they are.

We are offering three of Young Living essential oil kits at over a 10% discount, if you purchase them by Dec 5th. It's only a few days away, but we want  to be sure they arrive in time so we need to order them early.

Here are the special holiday packages:
*The Holiday Oil Collection: Christmas Spirit (blend), Joy, cassia, frankincense, myrrh, nutmeg, orange, peppermint, and pine  $92.05
*The Essential 7 Kit: Joy, lavender, lemon, PanAway, Peace & Calming, peppermint, and Purification   $79.61
*The Feelings Kit: Harmony, Present Time, Forgiveness, Release, Valor, and Innerchild  $161.82

We will gather information about each of the collections much as we did last year with the Essential 7. This way you can broaden your knowledge and creativity in using the oils.

Young Living has recently also made Deep Relief, Valor, and Tranquil available in roll-on bottles - easy to grab out of your bag, apply anywhere, and throw back in!

Mediterranean Dolmas were a hit at the last raw food potluck. They are simple and delicious! Click here to learn how to make them.

(By the way, no potluck this month, but in January we'll be showing a great raw food documentary).

Dear Gary,

YBB is a safe haven amidst the holiday chaos -- a place of peace and tranquility -- a place that touches you at the deepest level -- a place to connect with friends, with yourself-- a place to enjoy. We look forward to seeing you!

In the spirit of giving, a practitioner has donated a five session pass for anyone who needs it. If any others of you would like to give a scholarship for someone who does not have and extra four hours to give in "trade," we want to provide 50% towards that gift.

Don't forget you can easily access your class attendance, set up a profile, see record of payments, sign up for classes, privates and massages online at mindandbodyonline.com. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the newsletter to see an amazing offer.

(If you, and only IF,  have extra holiday decorations you would like to share, we would love to use them in the studio.)
Oh What a Year. . .

house on bI was thinking a few days ago that it only seemed like yesterday when I was still pregnant, and we were in our home teaching in our front room. I remember with tenderness how we wanted to "offer the world" from there, and I remember people coming and dealing with the tiny space -- coming with a huge openness to practice and to support us.

Tataya and JaiIt seems only yesterday that Jai was born, and we were all adapting to this quick arrival, making a "pause" in our lives, and still wanting to give the world to others -- while others totally gave the universe to us! For two months we received meals day in and day out. It was, for sure, the best Christmas ever! I had so many people around me. Friends and family came. We had the most beautiful powdery snow. . . and blue skies . . . and I guess what I felt most is that we had each other (friends and family). We were not alone.

So now it's another year, and I feel more than ever that "we are not alone." It seems that Christmas comes every week to our homes (our studio space is one of them), and we are very grateful for it!

We have grown so much from a 14x17 space to the gorgeous location at 48th & Normal. We have multiplied classes and clients, and we are still eager to offer the world. It's really who we are and not so much what we do that makes a difference! Thank you for being a part of this yoga community. We wouldn't be here without you!

Let's ROCK 2009! with more side body long, more muscle energy, more belly buttons into the spine, more coming from a space of intention and gratitude!

Namaste,
Tataya

Joy to the World!

Many of you who were attending classes with YBB at our home location remember the arrival of our little boy, Jai on a snowy night last December 11. Some of you were even there the night he arrived! As the holiday season approaches, again Tataya and I are filled with anticipation of first birthday, first Christmas, the first Christmas Oliva will actually look forward to.

Tataya and I have only been married for four years, and our family holiday stories and traditions are just beginning to be formed. I love the holidays. I love making pomanders, trimming Christmas trees, singing carols. I love the snow (I used to be a dog musher), making snowmen, coming inside for warm eggnog diluted with good Venezuelan rum, and making Christmas cookies. I'm especially fond of spending time with family and friends, doing little more than sledding, eating and making memories. Whenever I am around friends and family during the holiday season, I love to share one of my favorite stories (that is if I can find it amidst all my books). No, the story does not begin with "twas the night before. . ."  It begins with more nostalgia. This story holds the essence of holiday, celebration, and gratefulness. It is written by a devout Christian, and it embraces the truest meaning of Christmas.

christmas candlesEvery time I read this story, my eyes overflow with tears, even if it's in the middle of June. Now that we live in Lincoln and our families are far from here, you are my family tonight. Go get some eggnog (No rum! You have yoga in the morning!) and sit down. Before you read it, stop. Let everything you are grateful for rise to the surface, and read this in a spirit of tender joy. After reading, perhaps take a moment to decide what you would like to add to this holiday season for you and the world around you.

The story is about a soldier's experience traveling on a troop ship. They cross the International Date line two hours past midnight Christmas morning, have to set their clocks ahead by one day, to Dec 26th, and nearly miss Christmas altogether. This soldier's name is Ralph Heumann. He is still alive today. He is my grandfather. Here is his story.
