YOGI SHOP has a new line of products! breath deep naturals

We are so excited to have a new line of products in our yogi shop from breathe deep naturals . I love Lissi Staab's products because they are handmade with all organic ingredients, and she is local! I've tried all of the products, and they are amazing. The spray for the room, pillow, and face is my most favorite. I use all day long, every time I catch myself contracting or feeling tired, I spray it in my face and it rejuvenates, uplifts, and inspires me! I love it! The bath blooms are so fun! They are fizzy for a long long time, and the scents are divine! I took a bath with the kids and they loved it. It was a family experience. What great gifts any of these products would make, AND they are all very affordable. ~ Tataya ______________________

Book of the Month
YogaKids: Educating the Whole Child Through Yoga by Marsh Wenig
Amazon reviewer: "This is the most comprehensive and beautiful children's yoga book
available today. . . See for yourself, the
expression of awe on children's faces as they look through this joyful
book and become inspired by their peers. . . It is truly a lovely book that helps children (and adults)
learn more about the relationship between our mind and body; to use our
imagination by 'playing' yoga; and to teach respect for and strengthen
the bonds between each other and all other living things."

Munay's Story
 It's
9:25 pm, Monday night, the 30th. Visitors are gone and quiet permeates the night. In the silence
there is sheer beauty and a real miracle lying in the arms of my
wife tonight. Eight and a half months ago I received the gift of a tiny shirt,
presumably one our next child would one day wear. Little did I
know the upcoming adventures of the next several months. Now, looking into Munay's eyes and then into one another's, Tataya and I exclaim, "We
made it!" Behind that exclamation is much more than the labor: a relentless staff
infection, a yoga teacher training, a permaculture course in Colorado, five months
of in-laws in our home, two kids and a business -- all thinning and wearing
the strength of a once seemingly unshakable marriage. I believe
children bring their own lessons for those around them, and Munay -- meaning
the power of love -- has taught us just that. Those eight and a half months pushed us
to our limits, and then made us push back. Where did relationship stand
in this circus? That time got summed up at midnight last night when Tataya's
water broke. After taking a few laps around the house, at Tataya's suggestion, I took a shave and a
shower. Tataya's mother arrived at 12:30, and we walked (waddled)
across the street to the hospital. We asked for a room with a tub that we never did use, and we set up shop: oils, music, smells, herbs,
tinctures, biogenesis tools, etc. At that point, it was ready. . . set. . . go.
We never did leave the bed, the point where we first landed. The two of us fell
into this being -- two soloists dancing a beautifully intense duet. Tataya's consciousness, Munay's consciousness, and the fragrances of the
essence of life and my consciousness opened, to one another, the doctor, nurses, the
temperature, to the necessary adjustments and the alignments of setting the stage. As Tataya opened and severed this nine month union with every ounce of strength
she could muster, I was her rock, her life line to the physical world,
the bridge to her individuality, and she let go of Munay to be her own.
We met in the most intimate of moments and demonstrated acts of
love no words could ever reconstruct. We were and are one in this
creating. Munay's entry took no more than ten minutes, three good pushes
and three good contractions led the way from big belly to big baby as Munay
silently slid to Tataya's chest. It was short, intense, but
uneventful? -- not by a long shot. It was simply an event that changed the
course of the world forever, a creation, an addition. I don't know yet
how she will change this world, but I do see how this beauty already has
brought Tataya and I closer together than ever. Munay has taught us how to
work and marry everyday in our marriage, how to fall in love again, and
how to be a team of two individuals. She has taught us the "power of
love." Right now in the peace of the night in Tataya's arms, Munay
invokes in all of us, the celebration of the love that creates.

Ayurveda For the Season Bhyanga, Part II
BY
LISA MUNGER
In
last month's newsletter, I introduced the practice of abhyanga, or
self oil massage, a wonderfully nourishing ayurvedic practice. This
month, I've provided a few more details about how you can take hold
of this grounding ritual and use it in your life. The
practice is particularly beneficial to soothe Vata, therefore,
excellent to do in the late fall.
As
Vata is the elements of air and space, vata's primary qualities are
dry, light, cool, rough, subtle and mobile. Most of these qualities
are opposite to those of oil. This is why warm oil is especially good
for pacifying vata.

Sesame
oil, inherently warming, is best for abhyanga in the fall. Choose
organic sesame oil, either light or dark (roasted) is fine. This is
available at Open Harvest, Akin's and Red Clover in Lincoln.
Warm
the oil in a pot on your stove - be careful, it gets hot fast. Pour
the oil into a container (a glass jar works well) that you can keep
in a bowl of hot water to maintain the oil's temperature. You will
want to use enough oil to cover the body, a ½ cup should suffice,
but you can adjust that if needed.
Lay
a towel down in your tub. Then begin pouring the warm (not hot) oil
over your body until fully coated. Pay particular attention to the
main sites of vata - the hips, thighs and feet. You will then want to
sit down on your towel to fully rub the oil in. Work from your
extremities, the feet and hands, inward toward your heart. The
massaging of the oil should take about 15 minutes to do a thorough
job. Then take your bath or shower. You may smell a little like a
roasted bird at first, but don't worry-the smell goes away with
the shower and you'll be so nourished it won't matter anyway!
This
is a wonderful practice to employ daily, if that's feasible for
you. If not, start with once a week and see what happens. It is meant
to ground Vata and leave you feeling soothed.
